How a boat fits this weekend

The fair closes at 6 PM on public days, and sunset that week is around 5:30 PM, so the cruise that fits after the fair is an evening one: the lit-up Downtown skyline, Star Island and the causeways, with the fair crowds behind you. For a sunset cruise, skip the last hour of the fair.

Book a private yacht or catamaran from Miami Beach, Downtown & Bayside or Brickell for 2–3 hours, or a longer charter on the morning before the fair. You still reach the fair itself by road.

Art Basel Miami Beach is an international art fair: galleries from around the world show and sell modern and contemporary art in the Convention Center halls. Plan on a few hours on your feet. Many other fairs, talks and parties take place across Miami during the same week, which is why locals call it Miami Art Week.

  • Miami Beach (South Beach and Mid-Beach): closest to the Convention Center, and near the Miami Beach marinas.
  • Downtown, Brickell or Edgewater: across Biscayne Bay, close to the Bayside and Brickell departure points for evening cruises.
Getting there
  • Driving or rideshare: the Convention Center is on Miami Beach, reached from the mainland by the causeways. Allow extra time that week.
  • Water taxi: the official visitor page does not mention one, so we don’t either.
Bags and entry
  • Entry on public days needs a ticket or VIP Card.
  • The Convention Center has a coat and bag check in the North, West and East lobbies.

When is Art Basel Miami Beach 2026?

The public days are Friday, December 4 to Sunday, December 6, 2026, 11 AM–6 PM, at the Miami Beach Convention Center. December 2–3 are private days, by invitation only (artbasel.com).

Can I get to Art Basel by boat?

Not as a plan we can recommend: the fair is indoors at the Convention Center, and the official visitor page lists no water taxi. Most visitors arrive by car or rideshare and book a boat for before or after the fair.

What does an evening cruise cost during Art Basel?
